Disclosure: The Mayfair Grande Aluminium “S” Curve dildo was sent to me free of charge for this review by Crowned Jewels and I would like to thank them for the opportunity to put it through its paces.

Often when I see a toy I tend to look at them and think “It’s a buttplug” or “it’s a dildo”, they elicit little more than a “meh” from me. Every now and again a toy will come a long and I will see the innovation in it, see where the company has done something different and that will excite me. Rarely do I see a toy and think to myself “that is fucking beautiful” and of those instances I’ve noticed that the toy is almost always made of metal.

Crowned Jewels are a British company who have managed to make me repeatedly say “that is fucking beautiful” and not provoke my ire over the fact that I hate repeating myself (which if you were to ask my kids or slave is no easy feat). I have drooled over their creations for some time and when I was approached by them to try out one of their toys I may have said yes a little faster than is respectable. But fuck it, it’s metal, it’s beautiful and it’s made by a British company, I was hardly going to say no was I?

The Packaging:

The Mayfair Grande arrived in a circular cardboard tube that has been designed to look like black  leather. It has a lovely contrasting grey ribbon that is held together by (and I shit you not) a wax seal of the Crowned Jewels logo! There’s elegant design and then there’s a wax frikkin seal level of elegant! Being the sword & sorcery/fantasy novel geek that I am I cannot express how awesome this is to me!

After opening the tube the Mayfair Grande was kept in a black storage pouch that has the company logo on it. This was further wrapping in black paper with a little more stuffed at the bottom to prevent damage during transit. The packaging just screams a quality feel, as though you have purchased something really special. Feel free to bin it afterwards but I still have mine purely because I think it’s cool.

The Mayfair Grande Aluminium “S” Curve Dildo:

The dildo as the name suggests is made from high grade aluminium that is nickel free, hypoallergenic and completely body safe. It has an “S” shape curve to it which features 5 undulating globes along it’s length and comes in two sizes, the standard and the grande which is the one I have here. In terms of dimensions it has a total length of 8.3”, a 4.2” girth at it’s widest point and weighs in at a very respectable 255 grams.

If the packaging was anything to go by then I expected nothing but the best from the product itself and I wasn’t disappointed. The Mayfair Grande has been crafted perfectly and polished to a mirror finish without a blemish anywhere to be seen. Being metal it is cold to the touch but is perfectly smooth and the globes decrease in size all the way down with the head also tapered for easy insertion with a slight curve to its shape for you G/P-spot hitting pleasure.

The shine is easily obscured by fingerprints and other bodily fluids but is an absolute breeze to clean as it is fully waterproof. So warm water, antibacterial soap and some sex toy cleaner followed by a good buffing and it’s as good as new, ready for its next use.

In Use:

Ok so the packaging is great, the look and construction of the Mayfair Grande is perfect so how well does it do in play? In short – amazingly well. With a handy does of lube applied to both myself and the dildo It just slides in beautifully. The tapered tip of the head is great for teasing your pucker open though admittedly a little chilly at first. Once past the head though it just continues to tease lovingly with the remaining globes.

For me personally the angle doesn’t immediately bring the head to my P-spot and requires a little positioning and manoeuvring to get it there but when it does the weight helps add a tantalising amount of pressure. I would say that the angle was a criticism but to be fair I took probably a little longer than required to hit that spot just because I was enjoying the feeling of the globes opening and closing me around it.

As I mentioned the toy can be quite cold but if you are a fan of subjecting people to temperature play as I am then again, this is a bonus. I’m not a major fan of playing in water but on a couple of occasions I took the Mayfair Grande into the bath with me and just let it warm up in the water and that in of itself provided a whole wealth of other sensations as the warm metal entered me and brought me to climax.

If on the other hand you prefer it to be colder you can just as easily through it into some ice and just leave it there for a while before torturing the hell out of a submissive, or yourself if you do cold stuff. I have used it with one of my play partners as well who had never tried a metal product before and she was in love with it just at the sight of it, such is the power of a beautiful, shiny toy!

Using it on her was a very different experience and found that hitting her G-spot was very easy as I had more room to work with as I wasn’t having to try and get myself into a comfortable position as well as angle it correctly. And oooooh did she love it all the more, I think with a little more practice I may be able to have her squirt for the first time from it which will certainly make her happy.

Conclusion:

I would have liked a more pronounced curve to make reaching the P-spot a little easier for me and a little more girth to justify the “Grande” title. That’s it, those are the only damn criticisms I have with the Mayfair Grande from Crowned Jewels. Regardless of the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed positioning it and almost coming before even touching my P-spot that is the best I can find to say is a negative. With that out of the way, here is why should you have the £96.99 to spare you should buy it. Not only does it look stunning but it is beautifully crafted with a love and care for detail in all aspects that deserves admiration but it also feels fucking beautiful in use.

If you like heavy, firm toys with texture then this would be right up your street and if you haven’t tried a metal toy before a fantastic place to start if what you are looking for is of a high quality. Yes it’s pricey and sits very much in the luxury range of toys but personally I believe that it deserves to be there and worth it’s weight in…well, aluminium. It has definitely found regular use with play partners and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

If you would like your own you can get it from here.
